Yahoo made email, Internet search and other services available on mobile telephones with Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating systems, an AFP report said.

The AFP report said the 'Yahoo Go for Mobile' suite of services available on Windows 'smartphones' such as the Motorola Q included news, photo albums, and calendars.

'Staying connected to essential information, from business contacts and calendar to personal email or news, is a crucial part of today's mobile lifestyle,' Microsoft general manager Scott Horn, quoted by AFP in a release, said.

'The availability of Yahoo Go for Mobile on Windows Mobile-powered phones will allow our customers to bring their favorite Yahoo services to the devices they already rely on.'

Yahoo estimated that its services would be accessible to millions of telephones worldwide and said it made deals with leading handset manufacturers to feature its Go for Mobile software on new devices, the report said.

In July, Motorola announced it would pre-install Yahoo's Internet search facility, email and address book on its new mobile telephones from the first half of next year.

The multi-year deal would make 'Yahoo Go for Mobile' a standard feature on tens of millions of handheld devices Motorola markets in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, according to the companies.
