XM Asia Pacific, a digital marketing and technology consulting services company, is hosting its clients' digital engagement platform on the Savvis Symphony Open public cloud platform through Savvis' data centre in Singapore. The service is offered to customers in China, Australia and Japan.
"As more customers adopt online channels to increase their reach, we realized that the most effective way to ensure maximum availability of our clients' digital engagement platform was to migrate from our private servers to a secure, highly available cloud service," said Vince Lui, managing director of XM Asia Pacific. "[We can] scale our clients' platforms quickly to varying server loads by using the Savvis cloud platform. [This] has reduced our costs significantly by moving from a capex model to one based on operational expense. The move to Savvis improved customer campaign results and, in turn, improved client satisfaction."
When approached for a solution, Savvis initially provided XM Asia Pacific with a test-and-development environment, which became the working solution.
XM Asia Pacific selected Savvis because of the absence of binding long-term contracts, reduced deployment time, generous capacity management policies, robust service-level agreements and security, global availability via regional data centers and its track record of successful cloud deployments.
"Digital businesses today are measured by their customers' online experiences," said Mark Smith, managing director of Asia for Savvis. "A slow page load may result in a missed opportunity to collect critical feedback, or worse, send that customer to a competitor."
