Latin American operator Datora Telecom is rebranding its Brazilian mobile service, after entering a partnership with UK-headquartered Vodafone.
The duo is working together to provide mobile and machine-to-machine (M2M) services under the Vodafone Brasil brand, and plan to offer unified voice and data services, and enterprise roaming tariffs, in 2014.
Ravinder Takkar, chief executive of Vodafone Partner Markets, says the alliance will enable the firm to serve growing demand from business customers for Brazilian connectivity. “Around half of our 1,700 multinational customers already have employees based in the country; a trend which looks set to continue.”
Vodafone expects to pick up custom from companies in the automotive, security, utilities, medical, and finance industries, Takkar explains.
Datora Telecom has already launched M2M services in Brazil, racking up 230,000 connections since 2012.
