Vodafone is expanding its APAC presence with the establishment of a partnership with Bemobile in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
Under the non-equity agreement, Bemobile will become Vodafone's exclusive partner in the two markets. The operators will jointly offer services to business and consumer customers.
Bemobile customers will be able to roam onto Vodafone's global mobile network. In turn, Vodafone will be able to offer improved roaming access in the two markets.
Vodafone will also use the partnership to allow its multinational customers to add Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands to their existing international managed services contracts.
Bemobile (or bmobile) was Papua New Guinea's first mobile operator. The company was separated from fixed-line incumbent Telikom Papua New Guinea in 2008.
“This strategic partnership with bmobile will enable us to expand our presence in Asia Pacific and extend the reach of our products and services across the region,” Vodafone Partner Markets CEO Stefano Gastaut commented.
“It will also deliver enhanced roaming benefits for both our consumer and multinational corporate customers.”
