Intec has completed the mediation upgrade project for Brazilian operator Vivo.
Intec said the upgrade to its Inter-mediatE v6 and standardization on commodity hardware running Linux has generated a 90% savings in hardware upgrade expenses as well as future annual utility savings.
Vivo turned to Intec to address its processing capacity crisis, which was driven by its nearly 10-fold processing growth since the company’s 2003 launch.
“Implementing blade technology reduced our anticipated costs of upgrading hardware by more than 65%,” said Agenor Leão, director of business relations and solutions for Vivo.
