NHK has sealed an affiliation pact with Philippine network TV5, which will broadcast starting October the drama series “Amachan” and a related live-variety show, “Hallo Hallo Cafe.”
Amachan, which first aired in 2013, is an upbeat drama with moments of comedy about the journey of a high-schooler named Aki.
Hallo Hallo Cafe will pilot alongside Amachan as an after-show component. Presented and sponsored by Hallo Hallo and Cool Japan Shop, this will feature fun games.
Amachan has been previously licensed into Myanmar and Indonesia. On TV5, the series will run with a 30-minute episode and will be broadcast from Mondays to Fridays that will be aired in the morning and a replay at night.
