Indian regulator TRAI has raised the termination charges on all international calls, but lowered the termination charges for domestic calls.
The termination charges on international calls have been raised to 0.40 rupees ($0.007) per minute from 0.30 rupees. TRAI said it expects service providers benefiting from the higher tariffs to share the wealth in the form of lower international tariffs.
Termination charges for all types of domestic calls - involving both fixed-line and mobile services - have been meanwhile been reduced to 0.20 rupees from 0.30 rupees.
TRAI has also decided that 3G voice tariffs will be the same as 2G voice tariffs.
The new charges will go into effect on April 1.
