Thai carrier deploys Hitachi Cable switches outside Japan

Thai carrier Symphony Communication has adopted Hitachi Cable’s Apresia Ethernet switches as core switches for its provides, marking the first use of the product outside Japan.

With continuing growth expected in the Ethernet services market, Hitachi Cable is focusing efforts on expanding sales overseas, based on the performance already demonstrated in Japan and overseas markets.

Symphony Communication provides lines for use by general business companies as well as ISPs and telecommunications carriers, and plans to sell lines for use in 3G mobile telecommunications systems.

Kranphol Asawasuwan, Symphony Communication’s managing director, said the company chose Apresia for its superior functions for preventing downtimes and high reliability, as well as for Apresia’s track record in Japan.
