PT Telkom subsidiary Telin Singapore has started construction of a 20,000 square meter, five-storey Data Centre and Telecommunication Hub located at Singapore’s Data Center Park (DCP) in Jurong.

This new facility will be the third data center owned and managed by Telin Singapore. To be branded as Telin-3, it will address the growing demand for premium data center services to support Singapore’s Smart Nation vision. It will also address demand from the region and global markets.

Telin-3 will be completed by the third quarter of 2016. This facility will be built to meet mission-critical and high-power computing applications and operational requirements.

“Today’s groundbreaking ceremony for Telin-3 marks an important milestone for Telin Singapore. Telin-3 is our second partnership with EDB, IDA and JTC after our first facility in Changi,” said Septika Noegraheni Widyasrini, CEO of Telin Singapore.

“Telkom Group has invested heavily in the last few years to build and to acquire strategic assets and now we will house our existing and future infrastructure at Telin-3 upon completion.”

The datacenter market in Southeast Asia is expected to grow at a CAGR of 18% from 2014-2019, driven mostly by increased demand for cloud computing and big data analytics, according to TechNavio.

This growth is propelled by higher expectation of improved technological delivery as the region continues to be saturated with digital technology and internet connection.
