Vodafone India names Naveen Chopra COO
Vodafone India has appointed Naveen Chopra, currently director of Vodafone Business Services (VBS), as chief operating officer.
He will replace Sunil Sood, who will succeed Marten Pieters as managing director and CEO of Vodafone India. Both Chopra and Sood will assume their new roles from April 1.
Chopra joined Vodafone in 2004 as vice president of corporate marketing. Over the last ten years, he has done stints as CMO and subsequently led successfully Mumbai and Rajasthan Circles as business head, before joining the executive committee as the director of VBS.
Cisco names MD for Singapore & Burnei
Cisco has appointed Ang Thiam Guan as the company’s new managing director of Singapore and Brunei, reporting to Saleh M Haji Munshi, president of ASEAN.
Based in Singapore, Ang will focus on developing and maintaining key client relationships as well as the partner ecosystem for Cisco in the two countries.
Prior to his current role, Ang was MD of the Cisco Service Provider business across ASEAN.
Big data and telecom analytics expert John Gillespie joins cVidya
cVidya has appointed John Gillespie as executive vice president of global sales and business development.
Gillespie has over 25 years of experience in delivering disruptive technology solutions to the global marketplace, such as big data and telecom analytics.
Prior to joining cVidya, Gillespie was SVP of global sales and business development at a leading big data solutions company, and held senior management positions with companies such as IBM, Netezza, NexTone and nCUBE.
