Manoj Kohli exits Bharti Airtel board

Bharti Enterprises managing director Manoj Kohli has resigned from the board of Bharti Airtel.

Bharti Airtel, in a filing to the BSE, said Kohli has resigned as non-executive director and Shishir Priyadarshi has been appointed as an independent director, Economic Timesreports.

Kohli had led Bharti’s telecom business in various roles since 2002, including leading Bharti Airtel's India operations for eight years before moving to Africa in 2010.

Kohli stepped down his position as MD and CEO of Airtel's International Business to take over as MD of Bharti Enterprises in April 2014.

Indosat announces board changes

Indosat, the Indonesian subsidiary owned by Ooredoo, has announced changes to the company’s boards of commissioners and independent directors.

As part of the changes, H.E Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Thani has resigned from the role of president commissioner of Indosat to take over the role of CEO at the Qatar Investment Authority.

Rachmad Gobel has stepped down as commissioner, due to his appointment as the Minister of Trade, while Rudiantara has resigned as independent commissioner, following his appointment as Minister of Communication and Information.

Rionald Silaban has also resigned from the role of commissioner, following his appointment as executive director at the World Bank Group, Ooredoo said in a statement.
