Alcatel-Lucent appoints Paul Tufano as COO
Alcatel-Lucent has announced a series of management changes, as part of the restructuring that it announced in July.
Paul Tufano takes on the newly created position of COO role in addition to his current role as the company's finance chief. He takes responsibility for global supply chain and procurement, and for three individual focused businesses: enterprise, strategic industries, and submarine.
Robert Vrij becomes president of global sales and marketing business, while Stephen A. Carter becomes managed services president and EVP of corporate restructuring. Philippe Keryer takes the role as president of networks and platforms business.
George Nazi stays as president of the previously created global customer delivery division, while Jeong Kim remains president of Bell Labs and chief strategy officer, and will be responsible for the company’s patents assets/portfolio.
All the appointments will come into effect from January 1, 2013, Alcatel-Lucent said.
Thuraya appoints John Huddle as head of media services
Mobile satellite services operator Thuraya Telecommunications has named John Huddle as its new head of market development for media services.
He will oversee the development and execution of the company’s global market strategies, pricing and operations of its MediaComms suite.
Huddle has over 12 years of experience in the satellite communications industry. Prior to joining Thuraya, he held a number of commercial roles at Loral Space & Communications and more recently at Intelsat as global accounts director focused on the media sector.
OpenCloud names Phillip Stubbs CTO
Telecoms software supplier OpenCloud has appointed former Vodafone and Airwide executive Phillip Stubbs as its new CTO.
Stubbs replaces David Ferry, who assumes a newly created role of chief engineer with the company’s R&D division in New Zealand.
