Manish Prakash to lead Bharti Airtel’s enterprise and government business
Bharti Airtel has appointed Manish Prakash as director for enterprise & government, responsible for overall strategy and leadership of the telco’s business-to-business (B2B) operations in India. He will report to Gopal Vittal, joint managing director and CEO (India).
In his role, Prakash will focus on consolidating Airtel’s enterprise and government business, devising and executing growth strategies, leading product innovation and injecting world-class process and service capabilities within the organization.
He will also be a part of the Airtel management board, the Indian telco said in a statement.
Prior to joining Airtel, Prakash was most recently the MD of infrastructure managed services for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) at Accenture.
Before that Manish was also associated with SK C&C - the affiliate company of SK Telecom in Korea - as CEO of the international business division and served on the board of the affiliate organizations across China, India, Central Asia and US. He has also held leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, IBM and Hewlett-Packard.
Brocade hires former Juniper SDN expert
Brocade has tapped Juniper Networks and Cisco engineer Benson Schliesser as distinguished engineer, responsible for shaping the company’s software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) strategies.
Schliesser will join the Office of the CTO and report to Ken Cheng, chief technology officer and vice president, corporate development and emerging business. He will focus on strategic initiatives to further Brocade leadership in the key areas of Ethernet fabrics, software networking and data center routing and switching. Additionally, he will work with customers to design next-generation architectures to rapidly deliver new services, the company said.
