“The 11th annual Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice & Innovation Awards presented some interesting challenges to the editors of Telecom Asia, and this is reflected in our theme at the awards this year – Setting new benchmarks in telecom innovation,” said Allan Tan, editor-in-chief of Telecom Asia. “The result is an interesting, and at times perplexing, mix of investments and projects that Telecom Asia observed throughout the year.”
This year’s awards also features four new categories – Best Cloud Application of the Year, Cloud Infrastructure of the Year, Emerging Technology of the Year and Wireless Home Technology of the Year – reflecting the diversified yet significant role of cloud technologies and the emergence of new technologies that are continuously reshaping the telecoms industry.
The editors of Telecom Asia narrowed down the nominations from readers for 24 categories to a shortlist of 110 entries, representing 46 companies. Voting was open to our online subscriber base of service providers in Asia in early September.
