Syniverse Technologies, a provider of mission-critical technology services, has chosen Telcordia to support its recent number portability agreement with US carrier Centennial Communications.

According to Telcordia, the multi-year contract extends its position as the "leading provider of number portability services in North America," where it currently serves 95% of the wireline and wireless market.

At the core of the Syniverse-provided solution is the Telcordia service management gateway for wireless number portability, which will enable number portability for Centennial in the Midwest and Southeast US, as well as Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Centennial currently serves around 1.1 million wireless subscribers and 387,500 access lines and equivalents.
