Teknovus wins more FTTH deals in China

Network solutions firm Teknovus announced that its installed base for its gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (GEPON) solution for fiber-to-the-home networks has reached 20 key cities in China.

In a statement, the firm said it continues to win FTTH initiatives supporting advanced broadband services including premium video such as IPTV, high-speed data, and VoIP, as well as legacy services covering cell site backhaul, leased line data and TDM voice.

Teknovus' deployments in China are spread across the country including the major cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Wuhan; representing three of China's four largest municipalities.

Other significant deployments include the province of Shanxi and the city of Fuzhou in the province of Fujian. Carrier wins include Beijing Netcom, Beijing Telecom, Shanghai Telecom, Wuhan Telecom, Hangzhou Telecom, Fuzhou Telecom, Shanxi Taiyuan Netcom, Shanxi Mobile, Yunnan Telecom, Guizhou Telecom and Hubei Netcom.

Teknovus is fulfilling Chinese carriers' strict QoS requirements for end-to-end traffic management, supporting advanced video services along with high-speed data and voice services, the firm said.
