TCL Communication announced the unaudited shipment figures for its handsets and other products in April 2012.
In April 2012, the group’s handsets and other products sales totaled 2,915,586 units, representing a year-on-year decrease of 14%. Sales of smartphones totaled 367,163 units, and its proportion to the group’s total shipment reached 13% in April 2012.
Meanwhile, 2,515,589 units were sold in the overseas markets, while 399,997 units were sold in China. For the first four months of 2012, the cumulative sales volume of handsets and other products amounted to 10,764,317 units, with 9,084,869 units were sold in the overseas markets; while 1,679,448 units were sold in the Chinese market, representing an increase of 103%.
During the first few months of 2012, the group achieved significant breakthrough in respect of smartphone validation. A series of smartphone models have been slated for shipment from the second quarter onwards, such as the TCL C995, which is designed for China Telecom, and the TCL W989, which has been selected for China Unicom's 4.0 series mobile phones.
In addition, the group has been committed to enhancing its brand recognition by strengthening its brand building efforts through various marketing campaigns.
