Deutsche Telekom has announced the expansion of its open cloud platform, Open Telekom Cloud, to Asia.
In a statement, DT said its business customer arm T-Systems has launched the open cloud platform in a data center in Singapore for companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
The platform, based on OpenStack with open interfaces, enables fast and easy access and facilitates integration in the existing IT landscape.
DT said it will gradually expand the range of Open Telekom Cloud features available in Singapore, based on customer needs.
With the Open Telekom Cloud, DT can now offer the public cloud services to European companies active in the region and Asian companies looking to connect with low latencies to Europe, said Andreas Falkner, DT’s executive responsible for the Open Telekom Cloud business.
