Skype has unveiled a new version of the SkypeKit Beta software development kit that works on Windows (x86) and Mac OS X.
The SDK enables multiple desktop applications to offer Skype conversations — including video, voice, and text — without the need for users to separately download Skype software.
This latest release is a follow up on the debut a few weeks ago of SkypeKit, which enables hardware and software makers to add Skype functionality to their devices and applications.
The earlier version is compatible with the Linux operating system.
