SingTel will next week launch its first dedicated 4G services for tablets, the company has revealed.
SingTel said it will become Singapore's first mobile operator to debut LTE tablets once the services launch on August 28.
The first tablets to be offered will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE and the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TL.
Plans will cost S$49.90 ($39.20) per month with a higher up-front tablet price, or S$64.90 with a lower up-front charge. Either plan will come with 10GB of data. This compares to around S$40 per month for SingTel's existing 21-Mbps 3G tablet plans.
Announcing the new plans, CEO Consumer Singapore Yuen Kuan Moon said SingTel is on track to achieve island-wide coverage with its 4G network by early next year.
SingTel first launched dongle-only LTE services in December last year, and introduced its first smartphone plans in June.
