Shoppers around the world are expected to spend in 2015 some $119 billion in purchases via mobile phones, representing about 8% of the total e-commerce market.
Senior analyst Mark Beccue said that in the US, mobile online shopping increased by more than thrice to $1.2 billion in 2009, indicating significant consumer interest.
In Japan, mobile online shopping exceeded $10 billion in 2009 while Europe is expected to outpace the US by the end of 2010.
