The SEA-ME-WE-3 consortium has revealed that their submarine cable system suffered an undisclosed fault near India on January 21.

While traffic was not affected, repairs on the faulty segment were carried out over eight hours starting late on Saturday night.

Traffic on SEA-ME-WE-3 remained out of service during this maintenance period.

Pakistan telco incumbent PTCL said its IP traffic was transferred to SEA-ME-WE-4 during the weekend repair period.
