MACH has teamed up with Travelling Connect to jointly launch a reward program aimed at helping cellcos increase international roaming traffic and enhance subscriber loyalty.
The program enables subscribers who are traveling abroad to earn points or air miles in a preferred loyalty program each time they make mobile calls on a participating mobile network.
Reuben Iversen, director of client solutions at MACH, says the scheme not only provides subscribers with an added incentive to use the mobile phone but also creates extra revenues for mobile operators.
Marc Jurgens, marketing director at Travelling Connect, says mobile operators could introduce the program to the market quickly without the need to invest in new technology, as MACH would manage the exchange and clearing of data across networks.
The company would provide the information about the subscriber's roaming usage to Travelling Connect, which will serve as a single point of contact between the participating mobile operators and the loyalty programs of major airlines and hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriott, Malaysia Airlines and Air France/KLM.
