India's Reliance Communications has announced the launch of the nation's first 4G enterprise VPN service, Reliance Branch Connect.
The new service is designed to allow enterprises to quickly extend their corporate network to sites across the country, using RCom's LTE network to provide wireless connectivity in the last mile for branch offices, warehouses or partner offices.
Reliance Branch Connect Smart Routers offer plug-and-play connectivity to enterprise hybrid, private or public cloud sites connected to the Reliance MPLS VPN. The service is configured so that usage is restricted to business-relevant corporate applications.
“We are delighted to unveil this innovative solution that makes enterprise-grade private connectivity ubiquitous in India,” RCom co-CEO and Global Cloud Xchange CEO Bill Barney said.
“India Inc. is on a steep growth curve. As enterprises extend into under-served urban areas and the hinterland, the need for reliable, fast and secure connectivity comes to the fore. Reliance Branch Connect addresses these needs squarely and effectively.”
RCom's corporate clientele includes over 39,000 Indian and multinational corporations including small and medium enterprises.
