Security firm Kaspersky Lab is opening the door to 1,320 Android smart devices through a deal with chip maker and CDMA pioneer Qualcomm.
The deal to preload Kaspersky’s mobile security products on the Qualcomm silicon opens the door to at least 70 device makers and a total of 770 current and 550 future products. The security firm plans to offer manufacturers special terms to use its products in their smartphones and tablets.
Eugene Kaspersky, chairman and chief of Kaspersky Lab, says Qualcomm ranks among the most important of all the firm’s customers. Other companies the firm works with include Microsoft, IBM, Juniper Networks, and Alcatel Lucent.
