Qatari-based Qtel International has inked a framework deal with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) covering its seven international markets.
Under the Framework Agreement (FA) NSN will supply its Flexi base stations and other infrastructure and services to Qtel-invested mobile operators.
“Under the FA, standard terms and volume-based discounted pricing for network equipment will be available to companies of the Qtel Group,” said NSN.
The FA has an initial term of one year and may be extended for up to two additional years, it said.
NSN has set up a dedicated team in Doha to work with Qtel, he said.
Qtel has mobile subsidiaries in Indonesia, Kuwait, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Algeria and Palestine.
