Proxim Wireless has introduced a 4G backhaul product line for both the point-to-point and the point-to-multipoint markets, the performance requirements of which are said to exceed those of the International Telecommunication Union.
Proxim's new product line combines MIMO (multiple input multiple output) and OFDM (orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) technologies with its wireless outdoor routing protocol.
Proxim is offering the Tsunami QB-8100 point-to-point and the Tsunami MP-8100 point-to-multipoint solutions and targeting its existing carrier customer base, which includes Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, the government sector and the wireless ISP market.
Proxim CEO Pankaj Manglik said both products offer low latency and capacities as high as 300 Mbps with an extended range of 70 kilometers.
