PMC-Sierra has unveiled its PM5420 HyPHY 20G and PM5426 HyPHY 10G devices that enable the convergence of high-bandwidth data, video and voice services over Optical Transport Network-based Metro infrastructures.
The HyPHY products are said to be able to reduce line card variants by 75%, achieve 50% power savings and deliver multi-service aggregation flexibility to accelerate the transition to IP-optimized OTN networks.
OEMs can now deliver Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer, Optical Transport Platform and Micro OTP equipment that address carriers’ technical requirements and reduce operational and capital expenditures.
Travis Karr, vice president and general manager of PMC-Sierra’s communication products division, said the HyPHY platform solves the service convergence problem regardless of region or service mix.
