Philippines telco PLDT and its mobile arm Smart Communications have teamed up to launch a data plan which enables subscribers of the former’s fixed-broadband service to share their data allocation with the mobile phones of other.
The new service, dubbed “Speedster Fam Plan1299”, enables subscribers to a home DSL service to share their data allocation with mobile phones of their family.
Under the plan, PLDT Home DSL offers speeds of up to 10 Mbps and a monthly data allocation of 50 GB.
Subscribers who upgrade their Speedster Plan with a mobile plan can share 6 GB of the 50 GB monthly data allocation to their mobile phone lines.
Customers may get up to four Smart mobile phone lines bundled with their Speedster Fam Plan all billed under one subscription, the companies said in a statement.
PLDT and Smart EVP and Consumer Business Group head Ariel P Fermin said the new service reflects the Filipino value of sharing.

“Now, more than ever, the strongest connections truly begin at home. With this unrivaled and powerful convergence of the country’s number one broadband provider, PLDT HOME; and the undisputed leader in mobile services, Smart, we are going beyond the home and enriching mobile experiences of our subscribers," said Fermin.
Separately, PLDT said it has recently partnered with Bayard Center to enable online bills payments for overseas Filipinos worldwide.
The partnership, signed between PLDT’s international marketing, sales and operating arm PLDT Global and Bayard Center, enables Pinoys abroad to securely and conveniently manage and process their payables back home through an easy to use web-based payment facility, the company said.
