Pacnet has completed the expansion of its Sydney data center to meet enterprise demand for co-location and cloud services in Australia.

The second phase of the Pacnet Sydney data center delivers 1,295-square meters of gross Tier III data center space, and adds an additional 350 racks and 3 MW of total power to the facility, the company said.

The facility is also expected to offer data and cloud computing resources for Pacnet clients in the region, including China.

“As the pulse of the Australian economy, Sydney is a key part of our expansion plans,” Pacnet president of managed services Jim Fagan said.

“Through this expanded facility, Pacnet continues to strategically invest and grow its data center footprint in Asia Pacific to address the high-power, high-performance and high-efficiency needs of global enterprises looking to deploy cloud applications and multi-site projects.”
