Telcos need to increasingly bundle multiple products to boost revenue and market share, and offer them across multiple sales channels. Rajeev Tankha, senior director of product marketing at Oracle Communications, said he sees an opportunity for operators to expand online sales.
"But both these initiatives require integrated, end-to-end concept-to-launch and order-to-cash processes across all applications in the IT stack," he said.
Tankha predicts that over the next year this trend will gain momentum, with many mobile providers increasingly moving to bundle and offer broadband services, and traditional telcos moving to market infrastructure as a service (Iaas) to their corporate customers by bundling traditional networks with IT services.
"For example, we see telcos like COLT in the UK reshaping itself into a cloud service provider," said Tankha. "It adopted the Oracle's Rapid Offer Design and Order Delivery solution and has gone live with new IaaS offerings in less than six months. This trend is expected to grow worldwide."
He said Oracle has invested heavily in a complete solutions - focused product strategy with synchronized product roadmaps.
