Oracle and Wipro Technologies have partnered to deliver Oracle Communications operations support systems (OSS) to IPTV providers. The partnership is expected to help address the challenges that are common with IPTV deployments, such as costly and lengthy service launches, high order fall-out and poor service visibility.

Under the agreement, Wipro will offer Oracle Communications provisioning, service activation, subscriber and service management, and billing and revenue management solutions to the IPTV industry.

According to Oracle, its OSS/BSS suite's innovative time-to-market capability enables the rapid and cost-effective delivery of IPTV services throughout the entire service lifecycle - from service incubation to service maturity.

Its service fulfillment products for IPTV solutions allow operators to leverage out-of-box provisioning support and market-tested best practices for next-generation networking services.
