Australia's Optus has launched a bundled cloud solution based on Google apps that has been tailored for small business customers.

Optus, a SingTel subsidiary, on Friday announced its new Optus OfficeApps integrated business services.

The first of the products to hit the market is an email and collaboration suite, consisting of business domain name registration, the Google Apps for Business suite and dedicated helpdesk support.

Google Apps for Business includes Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail for Business and a number of other Google services.

The launch follows from Optus' agreement to offer Google Apps for Business to its customers, first announced in March. This is the first product to emerge from the partnership.

A Google spokesperson toldComputerworldAustralia that while Optus was the first Australian telco to sign on for Google Apps, it was working on the suite with operators across APAC. Named partners were SingTel, Korea's SK Telecom and India's Tata Communications.
