Blockchain-based mobile data marketplace ODX has announced a partnership with YouDeal to provide data-free access to the peer-to-peer marketplace.
YouDeal provides online offers to its base of 50 million users, covering service providers including fitness instructors, programmers, UX designers and financial advisers.
Based out of China, YouDeal is planning an expansion into Southeast Asia with a free internet strategy supported by the ODX platform.
Through the collaboration, consumers in the region will be able to access the YouDeal app at any time, even with no mobile data plan or credits.
Philippines consumer technology company Xurpas' ODX (Open Data Exchange) data marketplace connects ISPs and publishers to offer consumers free internet access via sponsored data packages.
ODX founder and CEO Nix Nolledo said the company has a focus on emerging markets where due to the cost of mobile data, consumers are offline more than 80% of the time.
“Data free access is a critical advantage in emerging markets. Your app becomes the default choice for most people most of the time,” he said.
ODX last month raised more than $60 million in a private token sale, backed by blockchain and technology players including Andromeda, Blocktower, DNA, Genesis, Hexa, Pantera and Strong Ventures.
