Japan’s NHK World TV has rolled out a video-on-demand service, available for free in Japan and overseas.
Subscribers can catch about 13 programs initially. NHK said that it would also consider content requests to add other shows to the service.
NHK World TV is the broadcaster’s English-language program wing. Earlier, NHK’s International service celebrated its 80th anniversary and would offer special programs to mark the milestone.
Separately, the public broadcaster is set to create history by co-producing 8K broadcasts of 10 matches with FIFA for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada this year.
