DiGi has contracted NetCracker to supply a Network Inventory System (NIS) to support the Malaysian operator's transition to 3G.

DiGi intends to use NetCracker's resource inventory, discovery, design and planning capabilities to create a central repository of network information accessible by all operations and management systems.

NetCracker will also provide a full range of services to aid in the implementation of the solution.

DiGi, which currently has 7.7 million customers in Malaysia, is rolling out 14.4 Mbps HSPA.

NetCracker said this win was the latest in a series of business deals in Asia, where it has also signed contracts with providers in Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
