This is the 4th in the series of global Mobile Payments & Banking Summit specially convened for the first time in Vietnam to address the importance of mobile payments & banking in the economic development of the Greater Mekong Subregion.
Greater Mekong Mobile Payments & Banking Summit 2010 will portray regulators perspective on how to structure the mobile payments and banking industry, showcase mobile payments solutions in the Asia, present how to successfully launch mobile payments solutions for local banks & to establish partnerships with mobile money issuers for microfinance (rural banks focus). The gathering will offer a serious two-day intensive platform for interaction, exchange of ideas, learning from successful models, and finding common solutions to current strategic challenges as well as boosting greater interaction and co-operation between the countries in Mekong region. At the Summit the delegates will learn about mobile payments and banking developments in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, China and other countries, explore the differences between cash money transfer customers and mobile money transfer customers and learn how to develop and pilot of a mobile micro payments solution for a bank. At the top of it, the Summit will evaluate the level of M commerce in the region, present mobile network operators’ perspective on mobile payments & banking developments, emphasize on the importance of the cooperation between the banks and mobile operators, as well as tackle the risk associated with mobile payments
