Ceragon Networks president for Asia Pacific Peter Humphreys said two key trends are driving the company's growth. The first is the "Next Billion Users" or the phenomenal subscriber take-up in emerging markets such as India, Southeast Asia, Russia and others. The second is the data usage explosion in developed markets, mainly driven by smartphones users.
Both trends require mobile operators to upgrade the capacity of their networks while also migrating to IP-based architecture.
"Ceragon's solutions lead the market in capacity while providing a simple and cost-efficient migration path to all-IP backhaul networks."
Humphreys says the company's main advantage is that it's a microwave specialist and has the ability to deliver superior technology at a highly competitive price.
"We are also known for our innovation and we're constantly introducing new features that help our customer get more out of their wireless backhaul network."
Humphreys expects 2011 to be another growth year across all regions. "In Asia we see more deployments of 3G, the start of LTE deployments to meet the need for mobile data capacity, and the growth of Wimax and its migration to LTE driving this growth well past 2011."
