Metro Ethernet Forum presents results of carrier interoperability tests

The Metro Ethernet Forum announced that it has presented the results of a multi-stage, multi-vendor carrier Ethernet interoperability tests at the recently-held Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2006.

Participants in the tests include, Actelis Networks, ADVA Optical Networking, Alcatel, Ciena, Circadiant Systems, Corrigent Systems, Huawei Technologies, Ixia, Juniper Networks, Lucent Technologies, Nortel, RAD Data Communications, Redback Networks, Stratex Networks, Telco Systems a BATM company, Tellabs, and T-Systems.

The CEWC 2006 interoperability event was designed to serve as a blueprint for multi-vendor infrastructures offering carrier Ethernet business services, triple play IPTV and Voice over IP residential services. The test event brought together will bring together equipment suppliers and European service providers to demonstrate practical implementations of carrier Ethernet and to address key interoperability issues before actual network implementations.
