Singapore's M1 has launched a dedicated M2M platform, as well as a range of M2M services targeted at multiple industry verticals.
The company said its new M2M Connect platform will allow corporate customers to track and manage their connected devices remotely from any authorized computer or mobile phone.
M1 has also teamed up with local technology providers to develop customized M2M services for the transport, retail, healthcare and security sectors that are designed to make use of M1's 4G network.
At the launch event for its M2M platform last week, M1 and its partners demonstrated innovative M2M applications.
Demonstrations included using M2M in smart healthcare monitoring systems, as well as a display of how security companies can deploy drones to conduct real-time remote surveillance.
“Much has been made of the benefits of M2M and the Internet of Things,” M1 chief product development and corporate solutions officer Willis Sim said.
“To make it even easier for our customers to leverage on M2M technology, we engaged them to understand their needs, and worked with our partners to develop and offer effective solutions that improve our customers’ productivity, lower their costs and help them tap on new market opportunities.”
