Lucent Technologies announced a teaming agreement with Novera Optics. to provide leading-edge dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transport platforms to service providers in Japan.
The optical offer will leverage Novera Optics' Lambda-PON technology to deliver Fiber-To-The-x (FTTx) applications to end-users.
According to the agreement, Lucent services team in Japan will actively market, sell and provide network integration support for DWDM metro transport and PON systems based on Noveras technology.
Novera Optics platforms are designed in a modular form so they may be easily integrated into existing network architectures.
The resulting systems offers the potential for significant CAPEX and OPEX savings as carriers deliver FTTx broadband access technologies to their customers.
