Juniper Networks is expanding its product portfolio with new metro, edge and core solutions to support 5G network transformation.
The new solutions are designed to help operators transition to a cloud-centric, automated network infrastructure.
They include new routers designed to support the high capacity and timing requirements of 5G networks, as well as a new linecard in the company's MX2000 Series 5G Universal Routing Platform that offers 4Tb per slot capacity.
In addition, Juniper's new Triton Silicon chip provides industry-first 400GbE native MACsec support for the vendor's PTX10008 platform. Triton Silicon powered 14.4Tb line cards are expected to be available in the second half of the year.
Juniper Networks will be showcasing 5G solutions at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.
“Service providers seek agility, cost savings and new services from 5G networks, but capitalizing on these benefits requires a complete transformation of infrastructures, operations and services,” Juniper Networks VP of product management Brendan Gibbs said.
“Juniper Networks is giving service providers the building blocks required to create 5G-ready networks built for simplicity and agility that are capable of supporting immense traffic demands for the future. By combining the attributes of secure and automated cloud architectures, Juniper is ushering in the next era of service provider networking.”
