ISRO secures $50m sat construction contracts

(India Business Insight via NewsEdge) The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will build two communication satellites - W2M and Hylas - for the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co for $50 million.

It will provide the INSAT-1 platform for the satellites. ISRO will also be involved in testing and tracking the two satellites.

The W2M will be launched at the end of 2007 and the Hylas will be launched in 2008.
