Intelsat has purchased the Glowlink Model 8000 Satellite Geolocation System, a DSP-based spectrum monitoring and geolocation system that can monitor satellites from remote locations and is controlled from either a single operation center or multiple operation centers.

According to Glowlink, advanced features such as SunCar help users to quickly and effectively detect and geolocate interferences. The Model 8000's network-centric and scalable architecture also allows it to be readily incorporated into an existing monitoring network without disruption to ongoing network operations.

Intelsat serves more than 1,800 customers, including video broadcasters and telecom service providers, in more than 200 countries and territories using its fleet of 51 satellites.
