NDS has launched Synamedia Metro, an integrated IPTV middleware solution for telecommunication operators and broadband network operators.
According to NDS, the middleware is built upon MediaHighway technology, which allows IPTV operators to offer attractive services, including Electronic Program Guides, interactive TV applications, Video on Demand, digital video recorder or network DVR capabilities and interactive games, in either standard or high definition.
It also incorporates the NDS VideoGuard encryption technology for content protection, revenue protection and rights management, and is pre-integrated with an IP set-top box from Samsung and VOD server from Broadbus.
By integrating these technologies into a single solution, the NDS Synamedia Metro architecture enables the telco operator to deploy a single integrated IPTV system, saving time in the critical startup phase of any new service, the company added.
