Intec Telecom Systems registered a 3% revenue decline to 112.3 million pounds ($220.4 million) for its fiscal 2006 ended September 30.

The company attributed the revenue drop to difficult trading conditions in some regions in the latter half of the year, largely due to consolidation among major telecom carriers.

Despite prompt cost management actions, this shortfall impacted earnings for the year, the company said, with EBITDA before exceptional items reduced to 3.6 million pounds ($7.1 million).

Intec posted loss before tax of 5.3 million pounds ($10.4 million), coming from a fiscal 2005 profit of 11.1 million pounds ($21.8 million).

Despite the loss, Intec secured key new customer wins in the US, UK, China, India, the Netherlands, Russia, Pakistan, New Zealand and Brazil in fiscal 2006.
