(Asia Pulse Businesswire via NewsEdge) After a delay of about one-and-a-half years, International Launch Services confirmed a launch slot of between Nov. 28, 2006 and Jan. 26, 2007 for the Measat-3 (M3) satellite, according to Astro All Asia Networks.

Astro said in a statement that upon the successful launch of M3, it would be able to offer a significant number of new services for its customers in Malaysia and Brunei.

The Astro service currently utilizes satellite transponder capacity on Measat-1 (M1). The Boeing Satellite Systems International-built M3 satellite will be co-located in the same orbital slot as M1.

M3 was originally scheduled to be launched in 2005.
