Huawei Technologies aims to grow its sales from enterprise business to $15 billion in the next three to five years, as the Chinese vendor expands beyond conventional telecom market.
David He, president of marketing at Huawei Enterprise Business, said the company plans to double the sales to $4 billion in 2011 from the $2 billion last year.
He said the enterprise business is one of the company’s key focuses in 2011, and Huawei is significantly increasing its investments in this area.
At present there are 10,000 employees - of which 6,000 are R&D staff - working at the enterprise business. He said the company will hire more staff to expand business and promoting Huawei’s brand to enterprise through various marketing initiatives.
The enterprise business, which was launched in 2010, offers product and solution portfolio covering enterprise network infrastructure, enterprise communication, data center, cloud computing and enterprise applications.
In its latest push into the enterprise market, Huawei announced the launch of its enterprise business in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, with plans to introduce a partner recruitment program in the third quarter to drive its business in the region.
He said Huawei will be focusing on providing products and solutions to organizations across different verticals, particularly in banking and financial, manufacturing, transportation, utilities and government sectors.
The company already has several enterprise and vertical customers and also established a channel sales network in the region to deliver implementation, maintenance and consultancy services to enterprises.
The company also unveiled Wednesday its new end-to-end Telepresence 2.0 in Hong Kong as a key element of its unified communication and collaboration solution.
