Huawei is growing its European presence with the opening of a new global finance center in the UK.
The new facility is based in London, and is tasked with handling Huawei’s global finance risks and building close relationships with international banks based in the UK capital. The center will focus on five key risks: market; liquidity; operational; country; and counterparty.
“This new center will be responsible for managing the risks of our critical finance functions…It will become the overall financial risk assessment and control centre for Huawei, and will help Huawei carry out consistent and low-risk financial operations globally,” says Cathy Meng, chief financial officer at Huawei.
Huawei has designated Europe as a core market, and already operates R&D facilities in the UK, Sweden, Finland, France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and Italy.
