With the rapid development of IoT means opening up new vertical industries with innovative solutions. Looking at the current market which is highly fragmented and no single vendor has end-to-end solution to meet market needs. New players and new business models are evolving and solutions are appearing on daily basis and positioning themselves in new green field market. Diversification of IoT solution and lack of one single standard have created the need for complexity and door for partnership.
It is important for different organizations like OS developer, chip and module, sensor, device manufactures, application developers and service providers to bring their capabilities at this i5 lab (IoT, Innovation, Integration, Incubate, Internationalize) type of launchpad where cloud and Software-as-a-Service for IoT have enabled new dimension for them to reach out to the local and global market.
i5 Lab vision
Huawei’s vision for i5 Lab, located in Singapore, is to serve the entire APAC region focusing on IoT services development and transforming the IoT industry with IoT Cloud-as-a-Service. We aim to build a partner ecosystem, extend the reach in incubating the new innovative solutions for this growing industry and further facilitate the Smart Nation vision.
i5 Lab mission
It is all about creating an ecosystem with all partners to create innovative solutions and bring win-win business value to our local partners and customers through i5 Lab, develop innovative solutions through local partners, testing and deploy these use case solution in local market and expend in international markets.
i5 Lab localize the partner ecosystem and solutions
Huawei Cloud IoT as a Service is key component of ecosystem, which enables the partners to not only use the cloud facilities to innovate, design, test, integrate their products and certify the E2E solution capabilities. But, Cloud-as-a-Service will also bring extension to the scalability and reduce the overall cost of the solution. From end customer’s perspective, it is all about the reliability, customized solution, fast time-to- market and cost for end-to-end solution offering which is available to them. Huawei alongside with National University of Singapore (NUS) Enterprise have embarked on this journey of i5to provide the IoT development environment, process support and mentorship for partners, researchers, developers and new entrants.
Huawei partnership plan is categorized as Independent Hardware vendors (IHV), Independent Software vendors (ISV), Service Integrators (Sis) and other for business and value growth. By developing, extending and replicating their innovative solution, Huawei and partners can reach out to new markets, influence customer’s achievements and gain business value.
